Everyone keeps their source code in different locations in their Home directory.
But, did you know that if you create a folder called Developer in your home directory, it'll automatically get a hammer icon similar to Applications, Desktop, and Downloads?
You'll also get a hammer icon in the Finder sidebar, if you keep your Developer folder there as well.
